Unlike the split window double cab I restored earlier, this is more of a refresh rather than a restoration. In addition, rather than trying to keep the car completely showroom stock I have been making some modification that I think improve either the looks or functionality. All of the modifications are done with an eye towards someone being able to go back to completely stock if desired.
One of the rewarding aspects of the project is working to get the detail right…so that everything on the car works as it should. Projects like ensuring the electrical system works so that things like the dome light comes on when the doors open and the brake warning light functions as it should, making sure the seals are all in place…even the seals around the dome light switch on the door pillars, replacing the fuel filler door release handle, and installing the appropriate clip to hold the back of the rear jump seat in place.
