I forget that I am focusing on the specific projects and sometimes I need to step back to see the big picture. Today the rain has stopped and the weather allowed me to get the car out and drive it a bit. So here are a couple of pictures of the car.
Today I also worked on a small project. On my list of projects was to revert to the stock body trim that came on the Karmann Ghia. These were two trim strips on each side down low by the rocker panels. In the case of my car, the previous owner had replaced the stock trim with after market trim in the same location as the stock trim would have been. The more I looked at this the more I liked the way the trim accented the body, both with the metal and the rubber. The only problem was some of the finish pieces of the trim were missing. A few minutes of time on the internet I was able to find the same trim that I was able to order on line. The parts arrived yesterday so today I cleaned up and finished the trim…I guess I will not be going back to the stock trim any time soon.
