Although the engine on my Vanagon is running fine, I thought it would be good to install a fresh set of injectors. After reading some reviews I decided to go with a set of MansiSpeed injectors. I also upgraded the fuel rails to a set from GoWesty.

This is a relatively easy project…if you don’t mind bending over into the engine compartment. I started with pulling out the air cleaner to get to the injectors on the right side of the engine. Having replaced the fuel lines within the last year it was easy to get the old fuel rail off the fuel lines.

With the old injectors out, the new injectors were attached to fuel rails and prepared for installation. One added benefit of this project was replacing the fuel lines from the fuel rail to the injectors…those were the only section of fuel line to refreshed recently.

With the projective caps removed, the new injectors were installed, wiring put back into place, and the fuel line (feed and return) reconnected. Rinse and repeat for the left side set of injectors.

After an initial test for leaks, everything got put back into place and the engine compartment buttoned up for a test drive. Everything performed as it should.

Another project checked off the list!
