I am still waiting for my carpet kit to arrive so I thought I would take care of some smaller projects. One thing I have noticed is when I fill the Ghia with fuel I can smell gas fumes for a while. I decided it is probably time to redo the hoses associated fuel tank and vapor recovery system. The hoses that serve to connect the filler with the tank were in reasonable shape but the hoses associated with the vapor recovery system were brittle and cracked.
Probably not the original hoses but they have been in place long enough. |
The new hoses are in place. |
With the new fuel lines in the engine compartment and these hoses in the trunk area, all that is left is the fuel line found under the fuel tank…that hose will have to wait until I can put the car up on a lift.
A quick update, I topped off the fuel tank the other day and did not notice any gas fumes…problem solved.
