The Vanagon had the original factory alternator bracket but did not have the nifty adjustable bolt and bracket used for tensioning belt. Although I was not having any issues with the original bracket, I did want to install the adjustable belt tensioning bracket. If I was going to install the new tensioning bracket…it made sense to install the reinforced alternator bracket from GoWesty at the same time.
Now changing out and tensioning the alternator belt just got way easier!
