With the Country Homes Camper conversion…the van is about 1/4 tin top and 3/4 pop up camper. I decided that that 1/4 tin top area was a good place to put a roof rack. The challenge was to find a rack that was only about 24 inches long. I finally came across a roof rack made Arksen that was 30 X 50. It comes in two pieces so it was relatively easy to modify. The installed rack came out to about 24 X 50. I used the Yakima 1A gutter brackets with Yakima roof rack cross bars cut down to 58 inches.

Before the rack

With the standard Yakima 1A towers the rack clears the roof. With the rack shortened to 24 inches, it sits nicely on the roof just ahead of the camper pop up.

Maybe a light bar above the windshield would be a good addition…
